The New Anti-Semitism

September 17, 2014 by Melanie L.

He chose us.
You felt threatened.

You decimated our numbers, banished our remainders.
Stateless for centuries, we roamed, ever your scapegoat.
We triumphed, coalescing on sacred ground.
We defend our existence at home and unite abroad.

You feel threatened.
You choose us.

Such a poignant comment on an evil that somehow never seems to go away and that disturbs not enough people. A very apt response to this week’s question.

  2. Outstanding response to this week’s question. And very powerful!!!

A poignant response. Made me stop and think–I love that.

Very thoughtful, like a sharp shove to the midsection. “THINK!”

    Nice, Melanie!

  6. Tina says:

Very powerful and poignant. And true.

  7. Concise with powerful word choices. Thought provoking post as always.

  8. Who is the ‘you’ here?
